Gilt titled spine. 307 pp. B/w frontispiece illustration from engraving (depicting head of Waterton's "Nondescript" ape-man taxidermy hoax). Textblock clean and bright throughout and binding sound. Early owner's printed name-plate to front pastedown, and a small 20th C. inscription to ffep. VG
