Variant title to title page: "Wellingtons Famous Battles in the Peninsula France and Belgium." 12mo up to 7½" tall., 471pp., Preface to First and Third Edition; 15 maps and plans; tissue guarded steel engraved frontispiece showing with French and British Commanders; 4 full page illustrations; 32pp. rear publisher advertisements with full page illustrations. Gray boards with decorative front and spine in red, white, black and gilt; floral patterned endpapers. Light rubbing to corners, rear hinge line and tail and head of spine; 2 light scratches to rear board; contents are clean and binding tight. First published in 1878, this is a rare, early copy in very collectible condition.
