HB 4to FR/-- 1st Ed. Illustrated. 664 pages. Three volume set. Apparently published as the war progressed, 1862-1866, it has many excellent maps, engravings and aerial views of battlefields and cities. Very nicely bound, half leather w/ gilt letters and design; aeg; raised bands. Vol.1- covers are off and 2" sq piece missing from head of spine. Front flys have minor foxing, o/w interior is VG. Vol. 2 - covers cracked at spine exterior hinges, but still attached. Interior VG. Vol. 3 - Includes 160 pages of volume 2, with pagination starting at 517 thru 680; then volume 3 starts at page 1 thru 738, with index.Strange set-up plus embossed seal "Walker & Sons, Bookbinders, Fulton Street, New York" indicate maybe rebound, but binding is leather and gilt as other volumes.
