About This Item
New York: Harper & Brothers, 1960. Hardcover. Very Good +/Near Fine. Ludwig Bemelmans. A WARM, FULL-PAGE INSCRIPTION BY LUDWIG BEMELMANS on the half-title. A very presentable copy to boot of the 1960 1st edition. Solid and VG+ in its wonderful pictorial boards, with light soiling to the rear panel and very mild offsetting along the front panel's edges. A bit of wear as well at the foot of the spine, light foxing to the endpapers and pastedowns. And in a crisp, price-intact ("$3.95"), Near Fine dustjacket, with just a touch of very light soiling at the rear panel. Oblong quarto, the text "after a poem by Beverley Bogert". Beautifully illustrated throughout in rich color by the maestro Bemelmans.
