New York: Oxford University Press, 1956. Cloth. Near Fine/Very Good. Tasha Tudor. The 1956 1st edition of this lovely counting book. Clean and Near Fine in its pink/salmon cloth. And in a crisp, price-clipped, VG dustjacket, with several tiny closed tears along the panel edges and light soiling to the rear panel. Oblong octavo, nicely illustrated in soft pencil AND in vivid color.

New York: The Viking Press, 1947. Patterned Boards. Very Good +/Very Good +. William Pene du Bois. A handsome copy of the 1947 true 1st edition of this Newberry Award winner. Solid and VG+ (former owner bookplate at the front pastedown, very light foxing along the preliminaries and pastedowns) in a crisp, price-intact ($2.50), VG+ dustjacklet, with light spotting to the front panel and, inconspicuously, at the inside of the dustjacket. Wonderful Pene du Bois illustrations throughout complementing his own text. (Bader, pg. 178).

Rochester: Stecher Lithography Co, 1919. Original wraps. Very Good +. Margaret Evans Price. 5 wonderful samples of early 20th century chromolithography in children's books. All 5 are part of a larger series issued by Stecher Lithography Co. of Rochester, NY and all showcase the company's vivid color lithography very powerfully. All 5 are also beautifully illustrated by in-house artist Margaret Evans Price. The 5 titles are "Mother Goose Book of Rhymes", "The Manger Babe" (by Isabel C. Byrum), "Baby, Animals and Birds" (by Anna Lauer), "The Angora Twinnies: A Child's Story" and "The Land of Nod" (by Margaret Evans Price). All 5 titles are solid and VG (or better) in their stapled, thick-card wrappers, with light, forgivable wear along the spines. A bit of chipping at the rear panel's top-edge of "Mother Goose Book of Rhymes" and very light soiling to several of the panels. A bright, crisp copy of the 1938 2nd printing, referring to "And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street" on the rear flap (Younger and Hirsch, pgs. 62-64). VG- (with light scuffing and rubbing to the panels and light soiling to the text) in a bright, price-intact ("$2.95"), VG dustjacket, with light chipping at the front panel's lower corner (not affecting the text), light chipping at the spine ends and very light creasing to the panels. New York: Frederick A. Stokes Company, 1937. Cloth. Very Good/Very Good +. Lois Lenski. SIGNED BY LOIS LENSKI FROM HER HOMETOWN OF HARWINTON, CT on the half-title. A solid copy to boot of the 1937 1st edition. Tight and VG in its dark-brown cloth, with bright gilt-lettering and design along the front panel and spine. Very light rippling to the foot of the pages, light staining along the bottom-edge, otherwise clean as could be internally. And in a crisp, price-intact ($2.00), VG+ to Near Fine dustjacket, with several very small closed tears along the panel edges and just a touch of light wear at the spine crown. Octavo, nicely illustrated thruout by the author herself.

Paris: Charavay Freres Editeurs, 1883. A solid, well-preserved copy of the 1883 1st thus. Clean and VG in its printed silver cloth, with tender (but still sturdy) rear hinge. Tall quarto, 8 lovely --and uncredited-- color plates. Text in French.

New York: Criterion Books, 1960. Decorative Cloth. Collectible; Fine/Very Good. A very nice copy of the 1960 1st American edition. Clean and Near Fine in a bright, VG+ dustjacket, with just a touch of wear at the spine crown. Tall quarto, wondefully illustrated thruout by Andre Francois.

Part of the wonderful "Cosy Corner" series.
