A bright copy of the biography of Arthur Wellesley by Richard Aldington, the first edition complete with its unclipped dust wrapper. The first edition of this work by Richard Aldington, looking at the life and achievements of Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington. A complete account of the life of the Duke, including his family life, as well as all his accomplishments. This biography won the James Tait Black Memorial Prize. Illustrated with full page plates in black and white as well as maps.With the front wrap of the original dust wrapper, unclipped. In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally very smart with minor shelf wear, the front board only lightly marked, with minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities and minor rubbing to the spine and joints. The dust wrapper is rather worn, lacking the rear wrap and loss to the tail of the spine, chipped along the edges, unclipped. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean. Illustrated with a frontispiece and full page plates in black and white as well as maps. Very Good Indeed

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
