A smart first edition of this biography of Arthur Wellesley, Duke of Wellington, written by Richard Aldington. First edition. Illustrated with frontispiece, sixteen plates, and nine maps. Collated complete. The life of Field Marshal Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington, an Anglo-Irish statesman, soldier, and British Tory politician who served twice as prime minister of the United Kingdom. He was considered one of the leading military and political figures of 19th-century Britain. Written by Richard Aldington was an English writer and poet who was an early associate of the Imagist movement. In the original full cloth binding. Externally, smart with light shelf wear to the extremities and a small mark to the front board. Original price-clipped dust wrapper is also smart with light shelf wear and minor chipping to the extremities. Fading to the spine and the odd small closed tear. The odd small mark to the panels. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout. Very Good Indeed
