A very well presented copy of Charles Kingsley's Westward Ho! A historical novel that was based on the real experience of Elizabethan privateer Amyas Preston, re-named to Amyas Leigh in Kingsley's novel. The novel celebrates England's victory over Spain in the Elizabethan era. Charles Kingsley was a historian, novelist and poet. Including sixteen decorative coloured plates by E. A. Cox.Collated, complete. In publisher's original blue cloth. Externally, well presented. Some fading to the spine and joints and some bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Decorative prize plate to the front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound with bright clean pages. Some scattered spots throughout. Very Good
