London, 1893. First edition pp.xvi, 495, 27 plates, 27 text illustrations, folding map, 24 pages publisher's advertisements. A good copy in rather worn original cloth, with pencil signature "Lennard" on title. The contents are generally in good condition but there is some scattered light foxing. End-papers are original. Corners are bumped. Gilt ornament complete but rubbed. The copy of Major Sir Henry Arthur Hallam Farnab Lennard, Second Baronet, of Wickham Court, West Wickham, Kent, 1859-1928, who was at Eton with Curzon, and accompanied him on his 1894 Pamir journey. The wear to this copy may well have occured during that journey. Yakushi K245
