About This Item

Uppingham: Goldmark, 1987. First edition. Cloth. Fine/Very Good Indeed. 9" by 6". None. The first edition of Iain Sinclair's first work, White Chappell, Scarlet Tracings, in the original unclipped dust wrapper. With a loosely inserted slip from the publisher, advertising other works. The first trade edition of the work. published simultaneously with a signed limited edition run of one hundred copies. Iain Sinclair's debut novel, based upon his experiences working in the antiquarian book trade. The work takes the occasionally obsessive nature of the book dealer and combines it with the mystery of jack the Ripper as the protagonists look for literary obscurities of the period. A smart copy of the author's defining work. In the original cloth binding in the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally in excellent condition. Dust wrapper is smart with shelf wear including the occasional closed tear to the extremities. Internally firmly bound. Pages bright and clean. Fine
