About This Item

Probably a first edition. No other editions mentioned, and my research indicates that there were no hardcover reprints until 1974. The book shows moderate shelf wear on the lower edge. The deckle-edged pages are clean, tight and unmarked. The dust jacket shows wear in all the places you'd expect after over 65 years, with chips and tears at all the corners and little pieces missing from the head and tail of the spine. It is still mostly present, in one piece and NOT price clipped. A rare book made more so by the presence of a dust jacket.

Synopsis

Jadis, commonly known as the White Witch, is the main villain of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, the first published book in C. S. Lewis' Chronicles of Narnia series, and the second chronologically. Jadis also appears at length in The Magician's Nephew, which concerns her origins and the origins of Narnia. She is the Witch who froze Narnia in the Hundred Years Winter.
