About This Item
New York: The Outing Publishing Company, 1909. Hardcover. 8vo. Black cloth with gilt lettering. 170pp. Frontispiece, Very good. Bit of offsetting on half-title page from long-ago newsprint contact, else nice and bright and almost rates "Near fine." A tight, attractive first edition of this juvenile centennial biography. Front inner flyleaf bears a bold, handsomely pencilled gift inscription from popular cartoonist and lecturer (and Rockford, Illinois legislator) Frank S. Regan: "Christmas 1910 / from / Nellie -- / Frank S. Regan." The front board gilt Lincoln quotation makes this an especially handsome binding. Rather uncommon. MONAGHAN 1699.
