Hardcover. black cloth boards, some very minor shelf wear, some minor wear on edges and corners, owners name on first blank page, jacket has some scuffing, minor chipping, a very good tight clean copy overall. originally called Lady In Waiting, title changed to Wife Apparent just prior to publication. in two parts, first part told in the first person and second told in the third, set around 1955.
