About This Item

London And Glasgow: Collins. Very Good+ with no dust jacket. 1939. Reprint. Hardcover. NO Date but a short neat Xmas note dated 1939 on the reverse of the ffep. Very Clean Green textured leatherette (? ) with very bright gilt titling/logo to the spine. A very nice crisp copy almost Near Fine. The page fore-edges have some very light foxing spots. Top edge pale green (? Blue? ) a little faded and with a couple of spots, Internally unmarked double page pictorial endpapers in sepia photogravure. 602 pp, 12 illustrations in sepia gravure from Camera Studies by J. Dixon-Scott. Includes a chapter on 'Cumro' and 'Cumraeg'. Includes the original integral green ribbon bookmark which has faded to the top and bottom ends. Internally Very Clean, Tight and Bright. The title page states "special map for tourists" - but none present, or even called for in the Index/Contents. I have had a lot of various editions of this Collins published title and some have a map and some don't. So I suspect that this edition took it's title detail from a different edition but that this reprint never included a map? . One of the most famous and now classic travel accounts of a tour through Wales by the author, first published in 1862, and his impressions of the country and its people. The photographs are contemporary with the current edition (1930s). Overall an Excellent Very Clean, Tight and Bright copy. ; 16mo 6" - 7" tall .
