About This Item

London: Jonathan Cape, 1963. First edition. Cloth. Near Fine/Very Good Indeed. 8" by 5.5". Not Stated. A very smart first edition of this collection of early prose and poetry from Faulkner, with illustrations. First edition. Illustrated throughout. A collection of sixteen poems, eighteen pen-and-ink drawings, and several prose pieces from William Faulkner, an American writer and winner of the 1949 Nobel Prize for Literature considered one of the greatest writers of Southern literature. This collection includes Landing in Luck, Faulkner's first work of fiction, and illustrates his intention to focus on his poetry in the earliest years of his writing. Collected and edited by Carvel Collins, an American biographer, Bishop, and authority on Faulkner. In the original green cloth binding. Externally, excellent. Original unclipped dust wrapper is very smart with light wear to the extremities and sunning to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout. Near Fine
