About This Item

Stockholm, 1914-1916. Two parts in one. Large 4to (31.5 x 24.8 cm). viii, 354, xi pp., 22 plates with explanatory leaves and a map, numerous text figures. Contemporary (original?) printed cloth with gilt title on the spine and front board. = Deals with the plants of Central Africa from Lake Albert and Victoria to the Bangweolo. Inscribed by the publisher (Von Rosen?) on the first blank to, suprisingly, the Swedish architect Ivar Justus Tengbom (1878-1968) "one of the best-known representatives of the Swedish neo-classical architecture of the 1910s and 1920s" (Wikipedia). Light wear to spine top; first few leaves with some vertical creasing, otherwise a very good, clean copy. The later (1921) published Ergänzungsheft is not included. Not in Stafleu and Cowan.
