Reader reviews for Witch

From the publisher

A teen with psychic abilities tries to save her best friend's boyfriend from an untimely death--without falling for him--in this young adult thriller from the New York Times bestselling author of The Midnight Club, now an original Netflix series!

Julia comes from a long line of witches. Her mom was the truly talented one, but Julia has abilities of her own: healing people with her touch and see visions in water touched by sunlight. Before she died, Julia's mom warned her to never look in water with moonlight shining on it.

Julia has no intention of breaking her mother's rule, but one day, almost by accident, Julia looks into a moonlit body of water. What she sees is a vision of the future--a young man being shot and dying in her arms. And when Julia goes to a football game at school, she meets the subject of her peek into the future: her best friend's new boyfriend.

Not only is Julia burdened with knowledge of the boy's fate, but she also falls for him as soon as she meets him. Julia will do anything to save him...no matter the cost.

First line

JULIA Florence didn't think of herself as a witch.

About the author

Christopher Pike is a bestselling young adult novelist and has published several adult books as well--Sati and The Season of Passage being the most popular. In YA, his Last Vampire series--often called Thirst--is a big favorite among his fans. Pike was born in Brooklyn, New York, but grew up in Los Angeles. He lives in Santa Barbara, California, with his longtime partner, Abir. Currently, several of Pike's books are being turned into films, including The Midnight Club, which Netflix released as part of a ten-part series. The Midnight Club also draws from a half dozen of Pike's earlier works. Presently, The Season of Passage is being adapted as a feature film by Universal Studios while Chain Letter--one of Pike all-time bestselling books--is also being adapted by Hollywood. At the moment, Pike is hard at work on a new YA series.
