From the library of Ben Ray Redman, noted critic and writer for "The Saturday Review", who also translated classics and wrote verse, essays and fiction, his unique bookplates front pastedowns all four volumes, his ownership signature top edge front end page Vol. I. Redman also was credited with writing an episode for Alfred Hitchcock Presents in 1957, and died from suicide in Hollywood in 1961. All four volumes Very Good, bound in contemporary quarter calf over marbled boards, marbled edges, black leather labels, gilt rules and lettering at spine, light outer edge wear, toning to end pages, small label of bookseller R. Griffin and Co., Glasgow Vol. I. A sturdy set. . Later Edition. Printed Wrappers. Very Good/No Jacket, As Issued. 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall.
