London: Macmillan and Co., 1912-19. Cloth. Very Good. 9" by 6". None stated. A nine volume set of 'Wessex Edition' works by Thomas Hardy, in the original publisher's cloth. Nine volumes. Complete in 24. The Wessex edition. A reprint of the first Wessex edition for 'Madding Crowd'. Illustrated with frontispieces and a double page map of Wessex to the rears to all. In the publisher's original cloth with gilt details to the spines. This nine volume set features a collection of works by the noted author Thomas Hardy. The collection contains the 'Wessex edition' of the works which is considered to be the definitive edition in which Hardy revised his novels for the last time. In the publisher's original cloth. Externally generally smart with fading to the spines, heaviest to 'Changed man', 'Greenwood' and 'Blue eyes', small damp stains and minor cockling to the front board of 'Madding Crowd', slight marks to the boards, bumping to the extremities and small closed tears to the head and tail of the spine to 'Greenwood'. Offsetting and light scattered spotting to the end papers to all but 'Dynasts First and Second' and 'Casterbridge' which have light spotting. Internally generally firmly bound, with frontispiece tender to 'Greenwood'. Pages age toned with the odd spot, heavier to the front to 'Greenwood' and offsetting to the title pages. Very Good
