About This Item
New York: W.W. Norton & Company, 1963. Paperback. Small 8vo. Stiff red wrappers. ix, 448pp. Illustrations. Very good. Wrappers lightly edgeworn, with small abrasion (likely from price sticker removal) at lower left corner of front wrapper. Overall a tight, decent first paperback edition of this 1937 overview -- a mild ex-library copy, the only markings being the inkstamped New York College of Music name/address on the half-title page and inside rear wrapper. From collection of conductor and musicologist Paul Clinton Echols (1944-94), with his inkstamped ownership name on the half-title page.
