EARLY REPRINT circa 1894, dated from adverts at rear, binding as first edition of 1886 (dated), 8vo, red cloth, illustrated on upper cover (boys playing football), and spine (boy with cricket bat), gilt titled upper cover, titled on gilt panel on spine, pages: 160 + 32. 2 tinted plates by J.J. Proctor. Spine slightly faded, head and tail and corners very slightly worn, 1 tiny nick to head of spine, 15 mm (¾") water mark on lower board, bookplate messily removed from front pastedown (see image).
