Publisher's brick-red boards, cover label to front board with Speedy and Sir Hokus of Pokes illustration, lettering in blue, black, yellow, and pink, jousting illustration to front and rear endpapers; original dust jacket with book's cover label illustration to front and rear panels, list of Oz books to front and rear jacket flaps. Very light soiling to rear board, else fine book; near fine clipped dust jacket with a touch of wear to edges, light rubbing to front panel. A magnificent copy. Hanff & Greene XXIV. In The Yellow Knight of Oz, the elderly Sir Hokus of Pokes, accompanied by the Comfortable Camel, leaves the Emerald City in search of a knightly adventure. When the evil Sultan of Samandra captures the Camel, Sir Hokus teams up with a young rocketeer named Speedy to save his steed and reverse the Sultan's malevolent magic spells. The Yellow Knight of Oz is the tenth Oz book written by L. Frank Baum's successor, Ruth Plumly Thompson, and the only one of Thompson's Oz books to be adapted for the stage. The book is illustrated by John R. Neill, who illustrated all of Baum's Oz books except for The Wonderful Wizard of Oz (1900), which was illustrated by W. W. Denslow. . Hard Cover.
