Reader reviews for York Notes Advanced Nineteen Eighty-Four George Orwell
Review summary
Readers widely regard 1984 as the benchmark for state-centered dystopias, with concepts like Big Brother, Newspeak, and thoughtcrime now part of common language. They find it a frightening, masterful, and thought-provoking vision brought uncomfortably close to home, noting echoes of Zamyatin’s We and its undimmed relevance.
