About This Item

New York & London: Harper & Brothers Publishers, 1940. The critical concensus towards Wolfe's work has gone from brilliant to not-so-brilliant, but now seems to be on the rise again. All have to agree that he was a tremendous talent who died too young to reach his full promise. This is a Very Good (Plus) copy of a Later Printing of the second posthumous novel published. Black cloth binding with gilt lettering on the spine. Clean text; despite what must have been a monumental editing, it remains at 753 pages, an epic. A bit of sun and spotting around the upper margins and a very slight lean. The original dustjacket is unclipped (price is $6.95); light edgewear and the spine somewhat faded. In an archival plastic protector.. Later Printing. Hard Cover. Very Good (Plus)/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
