Albany: Websters and Skinners, 1826. First Edition. Hardcover (Quarter Leather). Very Good Condition. Original leather backed plain boards. Modest foxing and spotting; a nice, unsophisticated copy. Usually considered the first American book on Zoology, it is mostly European animals with a few from the Americas. Eaton hoped that it "might serve as a pioneer for a full system". i-vi, 7-288pp, 24 pages of ads. Extra blanks bound in at the end, one with an old figure drawing in pencil. Scarce in commerce.
