Based on the Sullivan Films productions TV series. Canadian TV series that is about the people in a town in the Maritime Provinces. Specifically, the King family. This book is a continuation of the "The Story Girl" series shown with photos from the original TV series. It is warm, lighthearted, and deals with real life issues.

His uncle wanted him to stay home and work the farm. But the boy knew therer was a world out there he had to see. Yet, being a runaway meant you were outside the law - fair game. That's how he got caught on the farm gang. There was no way out, until Tiltawhirl John picked him up and taught him how to be a carnie, how to stay one step ahead of the suckers. But there was one man from the past even T-John couldn't keep ahead of. How could the kid keephim from destroying his future? Very good read. Ages 12 up.

This author deals with real life issues such as blindness, death, diability, etc. She is a favourite amongst young adult readers. An excellent read. Helps children learn to cope and also to understand not everything is perfect in life.
