Cartoon Cavalcade

This is an all-time favorite that I can review from boyhood memories. A friend of mt mom's, a patient at a nearby sanitorioum, was a member of a number of book clubs, one of them evidently the club that published Cartoon Cavalcade. She'd read, or not, the monthly selections and pass them on to us for enjoymet and storage, so I was in possession of this cartoon book from the year of publication. I lived with it for a dozen years and practically memorized all 444 pages of it. There was an incredible diversity of humor, from homespun to satirical, from gentle chiding, to merciless pillory, all of it timely from the turn of the 20th Century to the middle of WWII, by cartoonists to numerous to list here.It disappeared while I was in the service. I've described much of it to my brother-in-law, so now it's high time he enjoyed it first hand. ergo my purchase of Cartoon Cavalcade today. If you have never read this remarkable collection, I urge you tp rectify that omission and buy it.
