Central City, Colorado: Charles Weitfle, 1879. Stereoview number 325 published by photographer Charles Weitfle in Central City, Colorado, circa 1879. It is from Weitfle's series, "Stereoscopic Views of Colorado Scenery." Weitfle moved to Central City, Colorado and opened a photography studio in 1878. He quickly gained renown as his photographs of Colorado towns, mining, railroads, and natural wonders earned awards from the Colorado Industrial Association. The image in this stereoview is a natural rock formation in what is now Pike National Forest. The stereoview is in very good condition: clean and bright, with minimal soiling on the mount..
