Edinburgh: A. Fullarton & Co.. Hardback. Very Good. Undated Imperial edition two volume hardback set, c.1860, in the original full tan leather binding: boards with decorative cross-hatched embossing and gilt tooling to edges; spines with five raised bands, red and black gilt title labels and gilt decoration. In overall very good used condition with minor signs of age, handling and storage - boards rubbed and slightly marked with a couple of corners worn. Bindings tight and appear almost unopened - hinges sound. Internally clean, no annotation or inscription - ownership signature neat to reverse of front endpaper in each volume; tinted page-ends slightly faded but text, marbled endpapers and illustrations (some folding) bright and clear throughout. Particularly attractive, this set is both large and very heavy at over 4kg packaged - additional postage may be required if shipped outside the UK. Photographs available. Not an old library book.
