Pages slightly age-toned, and a couple of small spots of foxing, but otherwise internally clean. One small tear at top of first title page, which has been taped on the reverse. Light tidal marks on endpapers, bookplate, front hinge of vol. 1 and heel chips repaired. These chapters have been re-ordered. The chapter on the Mexican Revolution is enlarged with an account of the death of Iturbide, the ex-Emperor. The treatment of the Spanish Colonial System is corrected and enlarged. There is additional material about the climate of South America, and diseases supplied by George Birnie, Surgeon of The Conway. Several new Extracts have been added, plus additions to the Appendix.
