The interior book's front and rear cover have somewhat separated from the spine, however, there are no extraneous markings throughout the book, the printing is in very well preserved condition as are the pages themselves. It is set several years after 'The Queen's Necklace', and following the story of Ange Pitou, a peasant who becomes involved in the revolution. It was first published in 1846, and is part of the 'Marie Antoinette romances'.
