Complete in two volumes.This work details the history of the Royal Burgess Golfing Society of Edinburgh, instituted in 1735, with its ownership having included royals, aristocrats and socialites as well as notable golfers, such as Bernard Gallacher and Jack Nicklaus. The course was designed by Tom Morris and Willie Park Jr. and revised by James Braid.Volume I is a reprint of the edition published in 1936, and is illustrated throughout with full plate and vignette photographs. Volume II is a continuation of this work until 1985, illustrated throughout with colour vignette and full plates. In a full cloth binding. Externally lovely. Internally firmly bound, pages are bright and clean. Fine
