Good. 756 p., clean and unmarked on strong paper mildly age-toned; text block firm, but front board is detached from badly abraded spine panel; frontis engraving with tissue guard and many other ill.; front and rear leather boards are beautifully embossed with raised lettering in gilt or on gilt patches, edges scuffed and corner bumped. This volume deserves skillful repair.

1877 hardcover as pictured. An early attempt to document white settlement in, and the suppression/removal of Native Americans from the Northwest Territories and Ohio country in the latter half of the 18th century. This book has seen some use but remains quite readable. Binding is intact though both front and rear hinges are cracked. Maroon cloth boards with black and gold stamping are soiled and worn at edges with fraying at head and tail of spine and at corners. Pencilled notation on half title page.
