The scarce fifth edition. The first edition was published in 1614. Rebound in half vellum. With new endpapers. With an engraved, 'Minde of the Front', poem to the front of the book, a beautiful engraved title page dated 1614, a portrait illustration to the title page and six folding maps. Lacking the first map, on page 56, and the fourth map on page 218. Sir Walter Raleigh's most important and influential work. Written during his imprisonment in the Tower of London.
