Reprint, very good - hardcover shows mild soil and shelfwear to covers including a couple of small indents to cover, bit of bumping to corners, moisture wave at bottom portion of pages throughout and some other very light trace wear, in good dust jacket (price at flap) that shows exposure toning along spine, staining to lower portion of length of jacket, mild rubbing and soil, and edge wear that includes closed tears and open chipping mainly at spine ends. 334 pages with illustrated endpapers. Solid copy of another classic dog story from the author.

This listing is for a book from the earlier issue which was done in cloth with the head of a collie blind stamped on the front cover. The endpapers feature two dogs on the left hand page with a stream or road separating them from a single 'windswept' collie on the right hand side. The later issue featured dust jacket art by noted wildlife artist Bob Kuhn with the endpaper scene reproduced (in black and white) from one his paintings.
