The second impression of this travelogue, constructed by the author due to the lack of any works in English dealing 'from the point of view of the present-day traveller - with the Lake of Geneva as a whole'. Illustrated with one hundred plates of photographs taken by the author. This is the work of Sir Frederick Treves, a prominent British surgeon, and an expert in anatomy widely known for his friendship with Joseph Merrick, dubbed the 'Elephant Man' for his severe deformities. He is a main character in both the stage and screen adaptations of Merrick's life.
