Inspiration, the Magazine of Beauty, G. Allison Phelps, Editor/Publisher (1931). Twelve issues January 1931 through December 1931, issue 12 has is autographed by G. Allison Phelps AND includes a loose photo of him also autographed, all in a slip case, each issue covered subjects concerning Godliness, Goodness, Beauty, Health, Faith, etc. Each issue is covered in a flock type cover with cord bindings. Issues are 70 +/- pages, size about 6-1/4 x 9-1/2. Each issue has a different color cover, The slip case is dark green hardboard with faded gold titling. Case is in good condition some minor wear at edges back is a bit loose but with care should hold up. The issues are now 90 years old but are good some page wear is noted but nothing serious some cord binding is loose but pages are still secured. A bit of preservation/TLC could go along way in protecting these very rare issues. Gilt titling is readable but has some fading. Spine is tight with no tearing at hinges. Pages are good but have minor tanning at edges. Illustrations of Bayonet fighting positions are ok, some have faded a bit but all appear to be viewable. Overall a good copy of a rare civil war manual, and if you want to really get good at this I'd start with some ballroom dancing lessons to get light on your feet, a video camera so you can critique your movements, Xerox some of the send paper fold out sheets in the back with the positions and make yourself some flash cards, after you master this you can take up fencing, any level of mastering a sport th…Read more
