No place [in or near Charlestown, Virginia, now West Virginia], May 14, 1857. Manuscript Document Signed, "Articles of Partnership, F. Yates & Co." Tall 4to (12.5" x 7.75"), single sheet, approximately 221 words recorded in ink on laid paper, signed by Francis Yates, Charles Aglionby, & John Yates Beall (apparently for sister Janet M. Beall). Docketed in pencil on the verso.
Folded twice vertically & once horizontally, moderately soiled, couple of short splits along the horizontal fold, small archival tissue repair on the verso, otherwise very good.

"G.W. Fox owed Francis Yates $4688.50, Charles Aglionb $2912.67, & John Y. Beall $494.00. He failed & gave deed of trust on the Halltown Mill property to secure them. On the fourteenth of May, 1857 Francis Yates, to avoid the delay & expense of a Trustee's sale, bought the above mentioned property for the sum of $15,480.67 to be paid as follows - $7377.50 to the estate of J. No place, not published, no date (ca. 1930). single sheet, 16mo (6.25" x 4.75"), Recorded in ink on Winchester, Virginia letterhead (106 North Market Street), probably in response to a request from Stewart or William H. Bell.
Removed from a scrapbook, small stains from glue on the verso, folded once horizontally, lightly toned, otherwise Fine.
The authenticity of MacMillan's autograph is unconditionally guaranteed.
MacMillan (1874 - 1970), during a 46 year career, made over 30 expeditions to the Arctic. He accompanied Robert E. Peary in 1908, purportedly the first expedition to reach the geographic North Pole, however turned back after his feet froze.

Autograph in ink on engraved United States Senate Chamber admission pass which has not been filled out. [Washington, D.C.], no date (circa 1930). Measures 2.75 inches by 4.25 inches, with annotation in ink in a different hand at the bottom of the card: "1928 - 1932."
Removed from a scrapbook leaving remnants of glue residue & paper on the verso, lightly toned, otherwise Very Good.
Charles Curtis, 31st Vice President of the United States, elected with Herbert Hoover, was a member of the Kaw Nation and the first Native American to reach either of the highest offices in the federal executive branch.

No place, 1932 Autograph in ink on plain card stock measuring 2.25 inches by 4.5 inches, with annotation in ink in a different hand at the bottom of the sheet: "1932." Removed from a scrapbook leaving minor remnants of glue residue on the verso, otherwise Very Good. The authenticity of Chief Justice Hughes' signature is unconditionally guaranteed.

Boys Town, Nebraska: Father Flanagan's Boys Home, no date [1939]. First edition, this copy signed in ink by Father Flanagan at the first page: "Father Flanagan/ Boys Town, Nebr.,/ Xmas 1939." Tall quarto (12.25" x 9.25"), 16 unnumbered pages & covers, profusely illustrated from photographs. Original pictorial light card covers, stapled.
Lightly soiled, modest edge wear particularly at the corners, lower cover irregularly browned, otherwise very good or better.

Father Flanagan (1886 -1948) revolutionized how orphaned and disadvantaged youth are cared for and will no doubt be declared a saint by the Catholic Church imminently.

This copy signed in green ink by General William Childs Westmoreland on the title page. Octavo (9.5" x 6.25"), 316 pages including full page illustrations from photographs & endpaper maps. Publisher's gilt-lettered off white paper over boards backed in blue cloth lettered in red on the spine, in slipcase to which the program for the celebration is pasted (as issued) to the front panel (12 pages, stapled light card covers).
Binding soiled, spine lettering dull, corners bumped & rubbed, otherwise Good. The attached program has rusted staples, brief evidence of bio-predation, &minor foxing affecting the front cover, still Good or so. The slipcase is lightly rubbed, otherwise Very Good.

[Martinsburg]: J.Q.A. Nadenbousch, June 19, 1877 to June 19, 1880. Partially printed document completed in manuscript. Folio broadsheet (22.5" x 17.25") using both sides. Signed twice by Nadenbousch.
Folded once horizontally & three times vertically, light edge wear, couple of small losses at fold intersects, moderately soiled, stained, & foxed, otherwise Good.
Records in ink the names of 6 officers, 12 sergeants, 2 musicians, & 36 privates, most of whom were Confederate veterans. Additionally provides age, height, residence, occupation, & occasional "remarks" which seem relevant to uniforms, equipment & accoutrements. The document is signed twice by Nadenbousch.
