Blanchard (1883 - 1952, was a Canadian priest and the author of several works devoted to the protection of the French language and culture in Quebec.

Described in the preface by the anonymous compiler as an abridgement of Walker's Elements of Elocution which, "divested of all minute disquisition, and rendered strictly practical in its character, might be a useful manual for schools."

Noted academic & classics scholar Meta Glass' PhD thesis, this presented to her sister, Margaret Sanford Glass Lucado Ms Glass was president of Sweet Briar College for 21 years & also served as president of the Association of American Colleges & the American Association of University Women.

The language of the Haida was suppressed at Native American residential schools during the late 19th & early 20th centuries in favor of the English only dictum. Today, it is estimated that fewer than 50 people speak Haida, most over age 70.

Post-Archaelogical Institute, this title ended up in the collection of Lt.
