No place: no publisher, no date [1977]. Poster on light paper measuring 22 inches by 17 inches, printed in red & black, with illustrations from photographs featuring the semi nude Manouk, apparently "Miss Yoga." Signed in print "Coyote 77."Horizontal creasing, half inch tear along the left side now repaired on the verso with archival tissue, short color break along bottom crease, lightly soiled, slight edge wear, otherwise Very Good & quite visually compelling. Although the history of the sexy Manouk remains a mystery, we think "2 in 1" may imply a drag performer. Additionally, we are intrigued by the artist' signature & can't help but wonder if there is some connection to Margo St. James, founder of Coyote, the sex workers organization also known as "Call Off Your Old Tired Ethics." Regardless, a lovely poster which would add grace & elegance to any decor.

Crudely printed causing ghosting & portions of text to be light but not illegible, lightly soiled, trace edge wear, otherwise very good.

Quite like those spurious imprints from the 40s with "illustrations from life," we have been unable to locate any other examples of this title or imprint

A fine example
An extremely poignant print by artist & activist Cherie Mittenthal, who is Executive Artistic Director of Truro Center for the Arts at Castle Hill. Ms. Mittenthal lost friends to AIDS and has long been an advocate for LGBTQ causes.

Lightly soiled & foxed, ink check mark on the upper cover, couple of creases, otherwise very good.No doubt a spurious imprint designed to circumvent the pornography laws of the day, most probably actually published in New York. Presents a rollicking tale in which the participants "emulated the Ancients with [their] Bacchanalian orgies," apparently including lesbianism.

[Los Angeles]: Flag Publications, no date (ca. 1960's). Octavo (8.5" x 5.5"), 48 pp. including 4 full page illustrations from photographs. Publisher's pictorial, stapled card covers.
Worn: soiled, stained, edge wear, creasing, staples replaced, rubber-stamped "#300" on the upper cover, still engaging & quite useful.
Despite what might seem to be difficult circumstances, Estelle eventually realized "what an exciting thing it was to be spanked."

San Francisco: published by the club, no date (pre zipcode, 1950's?). Promotional brochure, bifolium, light card stock, single sheet measuring 7.25 inches by 8 inches folded once vertically, illustrated including a two page spread of the performers in drag, with suggestions "for your drinking pleasure" on the rear panel offering Scotch for $1.15 and other distilled spirits at $1.10.
Slightly soiled, otherwise fine.
The club, which opened in 1936, certainly one of the first drag venues in the United States, was relegated to posterity in 1999.

Contemporary half black morocco & marbled paper over boards lettered & decorated in gilt on the spine with the original illustrated paper wraps bound in. Lacking morocco corners, edges & joints rubbed, small loss of marbled paper along the top edge of the lower cover, text tanned, old catalogue slip at front pastedown, small label at p. 107, light, small stain at the upper margin of the final two leaves, about Very Good Although a limitation page prior to the frontis indicates that this is one of "30 exemplaires sur japon signes, numreotes," this copy is neither signed nor numbered. Slightly rubbed, minor foxing mostly at endpapers & pastedowns, otherwise very good or better in very good lightly rubbed & soiled dust jacket with modest edge wear including a couple of nicks & tiny losses.
Author's first book. Hubert Creekmore was a closeted gay man whose views on fundamentalist christianity in Mississippi are well represented in this title.

[Montreal]: B & D Press, (2011) First edition. Miniature 'Zine (1 inch x 1 inch), publisher's printed & decorated paper wraps with fold-over flap containing 23 laser printed accordion fold unnumbered pages which, as described by the publisher, is "an image and text-based book of the various things that people don't eat." Not found in OCLC as of 4/26/2020. A Fine copy As additionally noted by the publisher on their website, who indicate that the title is sold out, Food Taboos was "created for the Teenie Weenie Zine Machine project of Jamie Q, London, Ontario." Ms. Aquino is also known for her series entitled The Life and Times of Butch Dykes which "tell the real stories of women who challenged stale notions of gender and sexuality through their lives and work."

New York: The Macmillan Company, (1963) First edition, this copy inscribed, signed & dated in ink by the author, who adds a small sketch of a mouse, at the first blank page. 8vo, 430 pages. Publisher's light blue cloth lettered in plum on the spine, in pictorial dust jacket. Gunn/ Gay American Novels, 1870–1970: p 104 Upper margin & spine extremities sunned, edges lightly rubbed, text slightly toned & occasionally foxed, about Very Good in moderately rubbed dust jacket with short tears & small losses mostly at the top & bottom of the spine, Good or better. Partially autobiographical, the novel centers around young Jeff Ramsey & his "unsentimental education" in "the gay, tawdry, amoral, sometimes brutal world of a seedy summer stock company" Author Burwell was himself an actor & director as well as the founder of The Belfast Maskers in Belfast, Maine.
