Description:
No place: no publisher, no date [1977]. Poster on light paper measuring 22 inches by 17 inches, printed in red & black, with illustrations from photographs featuring the semi nude Manouk, apparently "Miss Yoga." Signed in print "Coyote 77."Horizontal creasing, half inch tear along the left side now repaired on the verso with archival tissue, short color break along bottom crease, lightly soiled, slight edge wear, otherwise Very Good & quite visually compelling. Although the history of the sexy Manouk remains a mystery, we think "2 in 1" may imply a drag performer. Additionally, we are intrigued by the artist' signature & can't help but wonder if there is some connection to Margo St. James, founder of Coyote, the sex workers organization also known as "Call Off Your Old Tired Ethics." Regardless, a lovely poster which would add grace & elegance to any decor.

"As an adolescent growing uo just outside Chicago, I would daydream away from that suburban life to my own world. In my fantasies, men could hold each other in love; we could run naked on the beaches and live in sunlight. In 1960 these mental images seemed impossibly far from reality. Now, to my continuing pleasure, I have found people who share this vision. These pictures attempt to make visible the human spirit that has transformed those young dreams into real life." ~Tom Bianchi, excerpted from the preface.~Excerpted from the dust jacket.
