Front pastedown has prior owner as Patty MacCready in ink and purple stamp for school in The Bronx. Overall good condition considering its age and scarcity.

A hardcover compilation of three single-volume editions of Time for Poetry; Time for Fairy Tales, Old and New; and Time for True Tales and Almost True. Believed to be a first edition as the first two of the original single books were copyrighted in 1952 with the third copyrighted in 1953. This compilation by May Hill Arbuthnot was assembed in 1953. "A collection of poems and stories for children, to be used in the classroom, home or camp; expecially planned for college classes in children's literature; with introductions and headnotes." Illustrated throughout with original black and white drawings. Spine is lightly sunned. Very good condition for its age.

Shedd Aquarium. 36 pp. Black and Yellow matte fish on inside front cover. Illustrated in color throughout by Elizabeth Newhall. Early grade school reader. Small tear on edge of title page and a 5 inch tear from bottom of page 13. Text is complete and clean. Green cloth over hardboard covers with yellow title and drawing of undersea fishes. Hinges remain tight, but spine is worn. Former library edition with stamp of Public Library, Logan, Ohio on front pastedown and withdrawn stamp on front free endpaper. Rear pastedown has evidence of former library pocket which has been removed.

No prior owner attribution. Page 31 contains a tuition receipt record showing dates, tuition costs, music costs and teacher initials. "This book is written for elementary beginning students. The lessor on the back of the piece is for the purpose of testing the knowledge of musical fundamentals gained from previous pieces." Very few copies of this book have survived, making this a rare, out-of-print treasure.
