This book was written and distributed during World War I as a religious guide to soldiers and sailors serving in the war. It contains the Holy Communion, prayers, scriptures, gospels, the Order for Burial and hymns. Like new condition despite its age.

Additionally 93 types of Naval and Coast Guard aircraft nomenclature are depicted and described. Copy is tightly bound with sharp corners and has slight darkening of cover. Title page is stamped SECRET and U. S. CONFIDENTIAL BRITISH SECRET and has owner attribution in ink in top right corner. Text pages are clean, crisp and unmarked.

Candidates of the Third Officers' Training School, Camp Sherman, Ohio, Jan. 5 --April 19, 1918. Softcover. Condition: Very Good+ No dust jacket. 93 pp of crisp, white leaves with profuse b/w drawn illustrations throughout. No foxing. Prior owner attribution dated April 27, 1918 on front free endpaper from Glenn M. Hood to Mary Jane Nixon. (Glenn M. Hood is listed on page 92 among the roster of Clerical Force of Company K, 331st Infantry along with his picture on page 14.) This book is a very rare compilation of a training manual that prepared U. S. Army officers to go to WW I. It contains the Roster of the Third Officers Training School present at Camp Sherman near Chillicothe, Ohio. The book also contains b/w group photographs of the training officers and each of the Infantry and Battery training classes. The back cover has a small water stain near the bottom edge at the spine and the bottom outer edge corner is missing. Otherwise, in remarkable condition for its age and construction.

Frigidaire Division of General Motors Corporation, Dayton, Ohio 1943. 32 pp plus inside covers front and back. Text clean and unmarked with hole punched in top left corner of booklet. This booklet identified measures taken during WW II as rationing and food shortages changed the way households prepared and stored food and the manner in which refrigeration helped extend food life. The booklet provided tips on how to utilize unused vegetables and meats along with recipes for leftovers. Few of these paperbacks have survived.

Tight, decent first edition of a title generally found in delicate condition, published according to the title page as the "Official Souvenir of the Thirty-Sixth Annual Encampment of the Grand Army of the Republic." Especially nice internally. William E. Parrish calls this "A series of unrelated essays on various aspects of Washington's wartime history; of variable value."

A humerous autobiographical description of an American's inscription into the military in 1942, and learning to adapt to the culture, food, money and women while based in Australia during the war.
