Herrsching, Germany: Manfred Pawlak Verlagsgesellschaft mbH, 1980. Hardcover. As New/Near Fine. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Lucas Cranach. See photos for condition details. Hardcover with dust jacket. Copies were purchased directly the distributor when new and have and packed away for several decades. Dust jacket is graded as near fine because of a few very minor scuffs and bumps and there is a bit of delaminating on the front right edge where the clear protective cover has a thin long separation from the red paper good and red cloth boards underneath is clean and bright. Binding is tight as book has never been read, never been thumbed through, has never even been on a store shelf. Pages are bright and clean with no issues. No handwriting, no price stickers, no remainder marks. No publication date listed (catalog showed copyright date of 1980). Please note: text is in German. There is one is one and photos are of the actual book for sale.

New York: Matthceus(?) Reichert, 1861. Hardcover. VG-. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, brown cloth boards quarter bound with leather to spine. Exterior shows spotting and soiling as well as edge and corner wear. There are a few small holes in the cloth and the rear board has a circular stain in the center. The internal binding is good, except for some minor pulling in the section of offset pages that starts around page 203. The front pastedown contains an inscription stating this was from the Library of the Redemptorists Fathers, and the title page contains a stamp stating "Redemptorist Library, St. Alphonsus Church of New Orleans. There is also a very faint stamp near the lower outside corner of the same page. Various degrees of foxing is present throughout with some pages being very minor and others showing quite a bit. Reading, PA : Pilger-Buchhandlung, 1899. 3rd Edition . Hardcover. Very Good. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, pale olive green cloth boards, ornately decorated on front and spine. Exterior shows scuffing and light soiling along with edge and corner bumps/wear. The internal binding is good, no hinge issues. There is the original owner's info on the back of the front end page along with a 1903 date. No other handwriting noted, no bookplates, no library markings, nothing torn or loose. The book is in German though it was printed in the United States.

Berlin, Germany: A. Hoffman & Comp, 1874. Hardcover. Fair. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, tan beveled cloth boards ornately decorated on all sides and spine. Exterior shows soiling and cloth is split at the hinges with the worst being the front which shows fraying and some peeling. Despite the exterior the interior binding is good at both boards and text pages. Paper is toned due to age and there is scattered foxing present. No copyright date listed but the preface shows a date of 1873. The second and page has the upper corner cut out where someone removed his signature. Each page shows ornate decorations and designs framing in the text which is in German. Also found between the pages was a letter from December 30, 1879, this letter is included with the book. The reason for the low condition grade of fair is because of the exterior cloth splitting at the hinge areas. Edges and corners also show bumps and wear.

Berlin: Myliussischen Buchhandlung, 1819. Hardcover. Good+. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover in original binding. Decorative paper cloth boards show scuffing and toning along with edge and corner bumps/wear. There is also wear and chipping present at the top and bottom of the spine area. The internal binding is good and text pages are secure. The front end page and pastedown contains some signatures of previous owners in the rear pastedown contains very faint ghosting of another signature. No other handwriting found in the book, no bookplates, no library markings. Foxing is present throughout with the end pages and title page having some of the heaviest. The book exterior only grades as good but interior grades as VG. Please note: the text is in German and this is the first volume only.

München: J.F.Lehmanns, 1903. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, black paper and cloth boards with large paper label on front. Exterior shows scuffing and soiling along with moderate to heavy edge and corner bumps/wear. There is also a dent on the exterior page edge, just to the right of the word Werken. The internal binding is good, no hinge issues. Decorative end pages in front and rear is patterned with a sword within a wreath in the uncross. There is an inscription opposite the end page which is in German. Paper is toned due to age and there is some light spotting and foxing present.

Berlin, Germany: Verlagshandlung Paul Parey, 1920. Hardcover. Good-. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover with two additional booklets. Gray cloth boards with black text on front and spine. The interior show spotting, scuffs and soiling along with edge and corner bumps/wear. The interior hinges at the boards are good but there is a section of pages (page 97 through 176) that is offset slightly, this issue can be seen along the exterior page edges. Paper is toned due to age and some minor spotting/foxing is present. There is a small note lightly written in pencil on the front end page and a couple pages show light pencil underlining or calculations in the border. This only affects a few pages. Also included are two flyers, one being in very good condition but the other one is broken into several pieces. There is also a separate sheet with some penciled diagrams and notes written which will also be included.

Berlin, Germany: Verlagshandlung Paul Parey, 1928. 4th Edition . Hardcover. Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, thin cloth boards show spotting and soiling along with edge and corner bumps/wear. There are a few spots where the cloth is frayed as well. The internal binding is good at the boards but there is a hinge crack in the advertising section in the rear the book page VIII. No signatures or bookplates present, no library markings, no handwriting etc. Pages are toned due to age and there is some scattered spotting and foxing. Text is in German.

Wien-Mauer: Libri Catholici, 1957. Hardcover. Good/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover with dust jacket. Signed by the author on the front and page. DJ is scuffed and soiled with numerous edge chips and tears/bumps. Red cloth boards underneath are still clean except for some minor edge darkening, corners are also mildly bumped. The internal binding is good and text pages are tight. The rear pastedown has some lumps near the gutter but this appears to be from the original binding process. Pages are clean with no issues. No other handwriting other than the author's signature, no bookplates, no library markings etc.. Text is in German.

New York: Murray Hill Verlags Handlung, 1874. Hardcover. VG-. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, stamped brown cloth boards with gilt on front and spine. This is the German edition that was printed by Murray Hill Publishers of New York. Exterior shows scuffing and spotting along with edge and corner bumps/wear. Both exterior hinges have small splits in the cloth. The internal binding is good, no hinge issues and text pages are tight. There is a bit of pulling at the second front end page as well as the copyright page. No signatures or bookplates, no library markings, no handwriting found. There were two pages that had corner fold, these have been straightened out the decrease is still present. Page 663 has a small chip in the upper outside corner which measures less than 1/2 inch in length. On a couple pages proceeding is also smaller chips. Pages are toned due to age and there is some scattered foxing and spotting, but otherwise pages are clean.

Stuttgart: Hallberger'sche Verlagshandlung, 1837. Hardcover. VG-. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcovers, three volume set half bound with leather to spine and marbled paper covered boards. Exterior shows scuffing and soiling along with edge and corner bumps/wear, leather is worn on the highlights and edges. Volume 1 and 2 show a date of 1836 on the title pages, volume 3 shows 1837. Binding of the text pages is good but there is some pulling and openings present at the boards. No signatures or bookplates, no handwriting, no library markings found. All three volumes show a small embossed stamping in the upper corner of the last free end page of the bookbinder Kundahl & Scheifele of New York. Hardcover, light blue cloth boards ornately decorated on front and spine. Exterior shows only minor scuffing and soiling along with light edge and corner bumps/wear. All three exterior page edges are marbled. The internal binding is good, no hinge issues. Floral end pages in front and rear are free of any handwriting or bookplates, no handwriting, no library markings. Pages are toned due to age and there is very light scattered spotting, though for the most part the book appears to of had very little use. The last page is an advertisement page and the paper for that page quite darkened. No publication date listed but the Pacific Press edition with 751 pages is said to be the 1907 version.

Leipzig, Germany: C. F. Peters, 1890. Hardcover. Good. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. Augustus Kollner. See photos for condition details. Tall hardcover, red cloth boards ornately decorated on front and gilt text on spine. Exterior shows soiling and scuffing along with edge and corner wear/bumps. Spine is also mildly faded. Decorative end pages and front and rear are free of any handwriting or bookplates. The title page does have to stampings on it - one reads "Fred Allen" in the lower one reads "Aantiquarisch". The hinge at the front board is cracked and shows an old repair in the rear hinge is just starting to open at the top and bottom edges. Binding of the text pages is good and pages are secure. Paper is toned due to age and some minor spotting and foxing is present. This book is written in German and contains all the music scores for the opera mentioned in the title. Berlin: Otto Janke, 1910. Hardcover. Near Fine. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, beveled cloth boards with black text on front and spine, paper label on front. Exterior shows only minor handling wear with a few light bumps and scuffs. The interior binding is good as far as the text pages but there is a thin crack starting at the front board and the rear board could have the same issue if it keeps being opened, as the end page paper appears to be a bit brittle. The text pages are toned but clean and it does not appear the book was ever used. There is a "01" stamped in the upper left corner of the front pastedown, presumably a publishers printer code. No handwriting was found in the book, no bookplates, no library markings etc. A very attractive copy.

Leipzig und Merseburg: Ernst Klein, 1824. Hardcover. Good-. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Thick hardcover in original binding except for the spine which has been covered in tape. Exterior shows scuffing and some soiling with wear to the edges and corners. The internal binding of the majority of the text pages is good though there is some pulling in spots. The front end page has a small signature written in the upper right corner, no other handwriting found (other than the penciling on the exterior spine tape). No bookplates present, no library markings. Pages are toned due to age and there is some light spotting and foxing present. This book is in German and is just one volume, which covers A-Jod only.

Leipzig: L. Staackmann, 1930. Hardcover. Near Fine. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, black cloth boards decorated in red and white. Exterior is near flawless with only minor chipping to the white design on the spine. This book would grade as fine condition except for several small openings starting on both the front and rear board hinges. The book appears unread is binding is tight. No signatures or bookplates, no library markings, no handwriting found. Pages are toned due to age but are clean. An early printing with 'Sechstes bis zehntes Tausend" (Sixth to tenth Thousand) listed on the title page. Extremely rare to find in this condition.

Mainz, Germany: Franz Kirchheim, 1901. Hardcover. Good+. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover marbled paper covered boards half bound in leather to corners and spine. Exterior shows scuffing and soiling, leather is in its original state. The rear board has some spots around the center area where the paper finish has lifted and the spine has a shiny circle near the bottom, presumably from a label. The internal binding is good and text pages are secure. No hinge issues present. The front pastedown contains a a label from presumably a church library. The title page also has a stamp stating Domus St. Josephi, C.SS.R with more on the stamp at the bottom which is unreadable. It appears this book came from a church rectory's private library. No other markings noted in the book, rear pastedown and end page are blank with no markings. Pages are toned due to age but are clean.

Leipzig: Insel-Verlag, 1917. Hardcover. Fair. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, exterior boards show toning and wear, spine is yellowed and much of the gilt on the front text is no longer present as well as the decorations. Edges and corners show bumps/wear. The main reason for the low condition grade of "fair" is because the front blank end page(s) is missing, so the first page when you open the book is the title page. Both the front and rear pastedowns, along with the rear end page has a faint staining along the top outside area, none of the text pages are affected by this. Halle, Germany: Otto Hendel, 1890. Hardcover. Very Good. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. See photos for condition details. hardcovers, two-volume set in original binding of beveled red cloth boards with gilt to front and spine. Exterior shows edge and corner wear/bumps and volume 2 shows some sunning to the edge of the front board. Internal binding is good, no hinge issues. Decorative end pages in front and rear of both volumes contain the original owner's signature and have remnants of something that was penciled in the corner which may have been an old bookstore price. The owner signature also appears on some of the other end pages as well. Both volumes are in German and are undated (ca 1890). Volume 1 contains 443 pages and volume 2 contains 476.

Stockholm: Bermann-Fischer, 1946. Hardcover. VG+/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover with dust jacket. DJ shows toning/chipping/small tears along the edges, mainly along the top. Blue cloth boards underneath are clean with the only issue being some corner bumps. Internal binding is good and text pages are tight. The front end page contains a 1947 gift inscription, no other handwriting found. No bookplates, no library markings, etc. Text is in German.
