New York: Shields Publishing Co., Inc., 1928. Limited Edition . Hardcover. Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, signed and generically inscribed by the author. Limited edition of 1200 copies, of which this is number 749. Black cloth boards with paper label on front and spine. Exterior shows some spotting and soiling along with edge and corner bumps/wear. Top and bottom edges of front and rear boards both have some dents near the center and rear board shows fade spots as does the spine. The internal binding is good, no hinge issues though some of the pages with photographs are starting to loosen. Black and gold end pages and front and rear are free of any bookplates or library markings. Only handwriting found in book is on the limited edition page which bears the authors handwriting and signature.

Philadelphia, PA: Privately Printed by the Kynett Family, 1935. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Fine. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover with original slipcase. Case is intact though edges are toned and some moderate chips/splits are present with the worst being several inches long. Olive green paper covered boards are clean and book still has remnants of the glassine cover, which is tattered and in pieces. Internal binding is good and text pages are tight. No signatures or bookplates, no handwriting, no library markings present. Book grades as fine in a good slipcase.

New York: Wilson-Erickson Inc., 1936. Limited Edition . Hardcover. VG-. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, no dust jacket. Blue cloth boards with gilt on front and spine. Exterior shows some sunning and soiling along with corner bumps. Interior pages are toned due to age but binding is good, no hinge issues. No bookplates or owner's signatures present. Front end page shows very faint evidence of a price once penciled in the corner. Signed, limited edition of 750 copies, of which this is number 197. Exterior top edge is dust darkened and spotted.

West Chester, PA: hester County Day Committee of the Women's Auxiliary, 1974. Limited Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/Good. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover with dust jacket. Limited edition of 5000 copies and signed by the author, of which this is copy 2896. DJ is spotted and toned with numerous edge chips and tears. Jacket has been housed in a protective sleeve for the last several decades. Tan cloth boards underneath are clean with only issue being some minor edge bumps and light spotting. Internal binding is good, no hinge issues. No personal signatures or bookplates, no library markings, no handwriting found other than when the author numbered and signed the limited edition. Paper is mildly toned due to age but pages are clean.

London: The Grolier Society, 1900. Limited Edition . Hardcover. VG-. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, volume 1 only of a two-volume set, Edition de Luxe series from the Grolier Society and limited to 1000 copies for England and America, of which this is number 114. Gray cloth boards show scuffing and soiling/toning is present. The internal binding is good, no hinge issues. There are no signatures or bookplates, no library markings, no handwriting found. There is some light spotting and foxing present, although this is mainly limited to the end pages and pastedowns. Please note: this is volume 1 only.

London: The Grolier Society, 1900. Limited Edition . Hardcover. Fair. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, volume 1 and 2 matched set, Edition de Luxe series from the Grolier Society and limited to 1000 copies for England and America, of which these are both number 114. Gray cloth boards are spotted with volume 2 front board showing a large area of loss to the finish, presumably from moisture. This is the reason for the lower condition grade. The interior binding of both books are the same: no hinge at boards and text pages are tight. There are no signatures or bookplates, no library markings no handwriting found. It is apparent the books were never read as both volumes have numerous quadrants of pages that are still uncut, mainly on the long edge. Copyright page shows singled date of 1995 with no other publications, first edition thus. Book is free of any handwriting or bookplates. No torn or loose pages noted. Front cover has price tag still present, rear cover has corner bend in the upper left section. See photos.

Boston, MA: Fort Hill PRess, Imprinted for The Old South Church, 1924. Hardcover. Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, limited edition of 999 copies, of which this is #323. The book includes the letter of appreciation booklet that was given to the contributors. There is also a single page publication (not pictured) called Old South Record, vol. XVI no. 4, which details the 40th anniversary. Brown cloth boards show some spotting on the front and minor spots on the rear. The internal binding is good at the boards but there is a thin crack starting at one of the pages in the front showing a handwritten speech. No signatures or bookplates present, no library markings, no handwriting found.

Garden City, NY: Doubleday, Page & Company, 1925. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Good. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. Hardcover, no dust jacket. Stated first edition on the copyright page. Limited edition signed and numbered by the author. This book is number 418 of 500 copies and page states " 500 copies of only of this book have been especially bound by Doubleday, Page & Company for their friends among the Bookmen, this being a limited first edition of which no copies are for sale". Book is signed by the author along the top edge of this page. Black paper boards show chipping and wear, mainly to the corners. Tan cloth spine is sunned. Pictorial end pages have no handwriting though front pastedown has a mark which someone erased, thus damaging the page. Rear end page it's very small corner chip missing from lower left. Book condition graded as good. See photos.

Pittsburgh, PA: The Boxwood Press, 1958. Limited Edition . Hardcover. Near Fine. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. See photos for condition details. Tall, narrow hardcover. Limited-edition of 500 copies published in consultation with the University of Pittsburgh Press. Black cloth boards show only very minor handling wear which consists of some spotting to the cloth finish and light edge bumping. Internal binding is good, no hinge issues. No signatures or bookplates, no library markings, no handwriting found. The only issue in the book is there is a small tear near the upper right corner on the title page. This tear measures about 1/2 inch in length.

Exterior shows only very minor handling wear/spoiling. Internal binding is good and text pages are tight. Pages are toned due to age and type of paper used. Limited-edition to 300 volumes printed on 100% rag paper by the Milford Chronicle Publishing Company. Front pastedown contains bookplate of original owner. Only other issue is exterior page edges shows spotting. Book contains 558 pp. of text and 133 pp. of index (691 pages total).

Pittsburgh, PA: The Pittsburgh Bulletin, 1910. Limited Edition . Hardcover. VG-. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, brown cloth boards with gilt text on front. Exterior shows light bumping and soiling along with minor scuffs and a few small wrinkles in the cloth. The top of the front board is a small chip along the edge just above the title. Internal binding is good, no hinge issues. Pages are toned due to age and some minor foxing and soiling is present. The rear of title page shows a thin spot in the paper in the upper left section. Title page states limited to 100 copies. The index in the back of the book shows a list of 75 names, of which responds to each cartoon illustration.

First edition limited to 2300 copies, of which this is copy number 430. Pages are clean and binding is tight. No handwriting or bookplates, no signatures. 26 pp w/facsimile of original manuscript. Brown cloth boards with white design and text on front, text on spine. Top edge tinted, untrimmed edges. Author's autographed edition with label on front pastedown stating limited to 500 copies (this is copy 357) and signed by the author. Front end page has " Chicago 1901" written in pencil as well as something lightly penciled in the corner. Pages are lightly toned, corner bumping noted. Book condition graded as VG-. See photos.

Alhambra, CA: Carl F. Braun, 1953. Limited Edition . Hardcover. Fine. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover with slipcase. Special limited addition of 1000 copies. Slipcase shows minor edge and corner dings/wear. The book itself is basically as-new. Black cloth boards are clean, corners are sharp. Internal binding is excellent and text pages are tight. No signatures or bookplates, no library markings, no remainder marks. The book has no flaws to point out. The biggest issue with this book is the very minor soiling and bumping of the slipcase. Slipcase condition graded as VG.

Hardcover, limited edition of a thousand copies of which this is number 405 (Edition De Luxe). Gray cloth boards with paper label on spine. Exterior shows quite a bit of spotting and loss to the finish of the cloth along both turn-ins, possibly from moisture. Paper label has chipping to edges and spine is darkened. Despite the exterior, the interior is in much better shape. No hinge issues in text pages are tight. Paper is toned due to age and there is some very light scattered foxing present6, though this is mainly limited to the end pages. No signatures or bookplates, no library markings, nothing torn or loose. The front and page does show evidence that something was once penciled along the top which was later erased. No publication date listed (ca. 1900).

Garden City, NY: Doubleday, Page & Company, 1923. Limited Edition . Hardcover. Good+. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, limited edition of 377 copies, of which this is #193 and signed "Elizabeth" by the author. Exterior shows scuffing and soiling and spine is tanned. Edges and corners show bumps/wear. The interior binding is in much better shape than the outside. It appears this book was never read as nearly all the page sections still uncut at the right side edge. This starts at page 3 and continues on to the last page. There are no hinge issues and the text pages are tight. No signatures or handwriting (other than the author's signature), no bookplates, no library markings, no remainder marks. Both the front and rear end page still has the publishers coding numbers stamped. The interior of the book grades as a strong VG but the exterior toning, soiling and scuffing lowers the condition grade to just G+.

Mount Vernon, NY: Walpole Printing Office - Privately Printed for the Japan Society of New York, 1938. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Good+. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. Hardcover, no dust jacket. First edition thus. Last page in book states that only 1000 copies of this book were made (though they were not individually numbered). Floral paper covered boards with tan cloth on spine. Some edge chipping and corner wear noted. Original owner's bookplate on front pastedown, no other handwriting noted. Binding tight, no torn or loose pages. Book condition graded as good plus. London: Hodder and Soughton, 1981. Limited Edition . Hardcover. Fine. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. Edward J. Detmold. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, limited edition bound in full leather. Book is actually new and was pulled from our shelves about 20 years ago and packed away. The book exterior shows minimal handling wear and corners are sharp. Interior binding is good and text pages are tight as book was never read. Red silk end pages in front and rear clean without issues. There is no signatures or bookplates, no handwriting, no smudge prints, no remainder marks. Color illustrations are tipped in with tissue guard protection. The only issues are the built-in bookmark ribbon has a couple creases where the bottom tail was folded back into the book and page xiii has a small hole about 1 inch down on the inside left hinge area, which measures just over one fourth of an inch and likely happened during the original binding process.

New York: E. P. Dutton & Company, 1926. Limited Edition . Hardcover. Good-. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Hardcover. Black cloth boards with paper label on front and spine. Limited edition - "limited to 498 copies of which 4 to 50 copies are for sale. This is copy number 339". No signatures or bookplates noted. No hinge cracks. Book show soiling with the exterior being the worst. Their dampstains on the top edge and bottom of the boards, you're limited to the exterior and some faint residue on the front pastedown and end page. See photos.
