Description:
Illustrations: Decorated with an original frontispiece and numerous in-text compositions, head- and tailpieces, all drawn and engraved on wood by Léon Schulz, printed in two elegant colors (warm orange/sienna and deep blue/black). The woodcuts have a strong, stylized graphic quality perfectly suited to Maurras's Mediterranean theme.
Binding: Attractive private (or semi-custom) binding.
Boards covered with a striking marbled/batik-style paper in swirling tones of blue, green, orange, and gold, with matching textured leather corners. The binding is solid, elegant, and in very good condition with pleasant natural patina.
Condition: Very good overall. The paper is fresh, the two-color wood engravings are sharp and vibrant, and the interior is clean. Minor normal aging to the leather (light patina) but no major defects.
