Carmarthen, in Priory-Street, near the Church:: J. Ross, 1772. 1st Edition . No Binding. Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Uncommon, First edition, 1772 Disbound, [4], (v-viii), [1], 10-28 pp, small paper label to tp. It was published again a year later. (237*190 mm). (T222334). Evans also composed poems in Welsh, which are printed in the Dyddanwch Teuluaidd. In 1776 he published two volumes of Welsh sermons, translated from the works of John Tillotson and other English divines. In one notice of him it is stated that having passed a great part of his life in the cultivation of Welsh literature, "without being able to procure the smallest promotion in the church, his fortitude deserted him, and, to chase away his vexations, he fell into a habit of drinking, that at times produced symptoms of derangement." An edition limited to 175 copies, highlighting 19 of Abercrombie's previously unpublished poems, some completed, some not. Published 10 August 1940 at 25 shillings for the normal and 10 guineas for the special. (Folio, 195*287 mm). The last book published by the press in their first life.
