Printed on Neenah recycled paper in Baskerville Old Face and Harrington types, hand sewn and signed by the publisher on the colophon. Elizabeth Cleghorn Gaskell (1810 - 1865), an English writer whose works explored the detailed life of the Victorian society, wrote a biography of Charlotte Bronte shortly after Bronte's death in 1855. Here, a distillation of the text.

The memorial biography of an apparently religiously faithful and unusually charming child, who died at the age of 10. Advertisements from time of publication highlight the faith-building tenets of the story, as well as suggesting comfort to those additionally bereaved. 'In pencil ' When George High Smyth (Craig H. Smyth's father) was 6 years old (this written by Craig H. Smyth). One in holdings, Library of Congress.
