A very bright, clean copy, in a dust jacket which is falling to pieces, lacking a large piece from the upper spine, and with many splits. Much of the jacket spine is detached. A novel which takes place in the White Mountains of Maryland. Smith Z-9.

Wear to edges, front hinge cracked but still partly intact, generally very good otherwise. Rear fly leaves have been supplied, and are slightly smaller than adjacent leaves. 164pp. This copy lacking the final 6 leaves (L3 - L8) which print the Table des Matieres and publisher's ads; leaves L1 & L2 are present, which contain the two letters from Voltaire to Montagne. A scarce book.

Paris: Jombert, 1742. New Edition.. 4to. Full calf, spine gilt, marbled end papers. Frontispiece & 50 folding plates, as well as vignette illustrations. Frontispiece laid down, names in pen on title, old stain to upper corner of front board, a repaired tear in the large folding plan of Namur; in general, a very clean and quite handsome copy, the plates in excellent condition. First published in 1734, this 1742 Third Edition adds accounts of the Siege of Namur (1692) and the Siege of Lille (1708).

Apsley Mills, Herts.: John Dickinson & Company, [c.1940]. Decorative printed wrappers, stapled. A 16-page booklet, illustrated. Rusting to staples, a clean very good copy. This is basically an advertisment for Basildon Bond stationery and bond paper. A scarce work by Lady Eleanor Smith, novelist and member of the Bright Young Things.

Copenhagen: [1817-1820].. A coloured engraving on wove paper, sheet size is 23cm x 33cm. From the publication KLAEDEDRAGTER I KOBENHAVN. Light wrinkling to edges, an attractive very good copy. Titled in Danish and German. Small number "1" at lower right. Imprint at bottom: "faaes hos Lahde, i Gottersgaden". An image of a Danish maidservant ca. 1800.

London: Hutchinson, 1906. . Second Edition; originally published in 1902. Green cloth, spine patterned and lettered in gilt, Hutchinson's Popular Classics insignia in gilt on front cover. Frontispiece and 16 maps & plans. Inner hinges cracking but intact, some cloth soiling, a very good copy.

NY: Algonquin, (1928).. Illustrated boards. Issued as Algonquin "Sunny R Book" No. 105. End papers illustrated in color, numerous illustrations in color and b&w. A bit of wear to corners, boards splitting along spine, ownership signature on front end paper dated 1934; a very good copy otherwise. Quite a delightful little duck book.

London: Tetrad Press, 1970. . A single sheet, once folded to make a 4-page booklet. 10 X 12 inches. A bit dusty, but fine. A poem by Eigner, written for Ian Tyson in 1968, with graphic by Derrick Greaves. 500 copies were printed (of which 50 were signed, but not this one).

Oxford: Basil Blackwell, [c. 1930].. Brown boards lettered in blue, pictorial paper label on front cover. Moderate shelf wear, small paper label on front cover, a very good copy. The verso of the title page contains a list of books in this series, of which this is Volume 30. Uncommon.

[np/nd, but ca. 1968?]. . A single sheet measuring 11.5 X 14.25 inches., printed on both sides, illustration on both sides. The recto (which has the number 289 in the lower corner) prints the text of Fuclock. The verso (with the number 290 in the lower corner) prints part of an interview with Timothy Leary. Perhaps an offprint from a periodical. Printed on glossy paper. Slight crease in the margin, but fine.

[California, 1928?]. This is a color block print measuring 9.25 x 12.25 inches; the image size is 5.5 x 8 inches. Paper is slightly browned, fine condition. The author's name is lettered at the bottom, within the illustration: "Lawrence Patterson 1928". Patterson (1896 - 1964) lived and worked in California, where he was a book illustrator and print maker. This is a colorful and striking image, of two large figures beneath a tree, with a small central figure, mystical in nature.

(San Francisco: Beach Books), 1967. First edition. . An illustrated poetry broadside, measuring 22.5 X 17.5 inches. Vertical creases, a 2-inch tear in the upper left margin, clean and very good otherwise. This was designed to be folded up into a booklet, but this copy was never folded. It has, however, been creased by being rolled up.

London: Fire Publications, 1968. . An illustrated broadside poem on a single sheet measuring 15.5 x 21 inches. Twice folded into booklet form as issued. Printed in two colors. A couple of small spots, but fine.

Paris, [1787] . Engraved map. 21 x 25 inches (this is matted: 27 x 31.5 inches). Hand-colouring. Large inset map of the Mississippi Valley and many tributaries, another inset map of Western Florida and Georgia, and a small coloured inset of Niagara Falls. Original folds, clean, nice condition. The first state was published in 1755. With the outbreak of the American Revolution engendering increasing demand for American maps, Le Rouge reworked the plate (adding the boundaries of the new States) and re-titled it: Theatre de la guerre en Amérique in 1777. He then re-worked it again and published it in 1787 with the title: Carte d'une partie de l'Amérique Septentrionale pour servir a l'Histoire de la dernière guerre [This Edition] . This map was issued in Volume 4 of Francois Soules' "Histoire des Troubles de l'Amerique Anglaise" (1787).
