Some rubbing and general wear to boards. Hinges strong, contents tight and clean, thus very good or better. A lovely set of this scarce 1808 edition of Racine's work.

A very good copy in the publisher's pale green cloth, stamped in dark green and gilt. Finger soiling to boards, and the page block a touch shaken with the gutter exposed ata few places; still a complete, sound, intact copy. With the large folding chart, printed on tissue, bound in at rear. Owner's name (a Fitz Randolph) A scarce geneaology of this English family and their descendants in the United States, who trace their lineage back to the 10th century, before the Norman invasion of England. The book is scarce in commerce; we traced it last in a 1960 Goodspeed catalogue.

Detroit: Michigan Stove Company, 1925. Brochure. Very good. Folded sheet, which unfolds to about 13.5" x 10.5". In very good condition, with a thin short tear at one fold and a hint of dust-soiling to two panels. Contents bright and clean. A nice brochure for the Garland-branded line of coal, gas, and wood combination cooking stoves manufactured by the Michigan Stove Company. Dating to the early 20th century, it's clear that these were produced during a time when the superiority of either wood, gas, or coal, had not quite been settled in the general marketplace. The main spread of the unfolded brochure has five nice illustrations of specific models, along with product descriptions and specifications. OCLC locates a few larger catalogues from this manufacturer, but not this specific brochure. Scarce.

New York: G. P. Putnam's Sons, 1916. Third printing. Hardcover. Near fine/Very good-. Octavo, 412pp. A crisp, clean copy, near fine, in the publisher's blue cloth. Front free endpaper has a flattened vertical crease, and there is a tidemark at the bottom front corner affecting the first several dozen pages, not approaching any contents, but the book is otherwise fresh and well-preserved. In the scarce dust jacket, about very good, with the spine darkened, a small dampstain at the bottom of the front panel, and shallow spine end chipping. A particularly uncommon Lincoln book in any printing, scarcer yet in the dust jacket. Rankin, who died at 90 in 1927, was an early colleague and friend of Lincoln's from his Springfield days.
