This 1885 reprint from T. B. Peterson and Brothers is rebound (half binding of dark brown leather with light brown cloth). Illustrations supplied in facsimilie. Binding tight. Note in light pencil on first free fly leaf details binding and illustrations. These "bandittis" were criminal gangs that terrorized the states of Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio and the territory of Iowa in the early to mid-19th century. The author, Edward Bonney (1807-1864) led a full life as an adventurer, miller, hotel keeper, city planner, counterfeiter, livery stable keeper, bounty hunter, private detective, postmaster, merchant, soldier. "Banditti of the Prairie" is his best known work and details his undercover effort to expose the killers of Colonel George Davenport.

This soft cover magazine (No. 70, March 2010) was a special issue of the official newsletter of the USS Landing Craft, Infantry, National Association, Inc. John P. Cummer, editor. Pages 62, 63, and 64 list those killed in action by landing craft number. A previous owner has carefully counted each and added them by columns to reach 274 killed. He also added a note to the top of an article titled "History of LCI (M)596." He notes that he trained on this ship and then took part in a landing in France.

French language biography of the great South American liberator illustrated by Edy Legrand. Published in 1929. Several problems: Staining lower right corner of cover, pages browning, some foxing, cover somewhat loose.

Handsome 1911 edition in very good condition with tight binding. This adventure book for boys has minor shelf wear. Gift inscription dated Dec. 25, 1916, on first free fly leaf. No other extraneous writing, marks, or underlinings. No remainder mark. This is NOT an ex-library book. The proceeds from the sale will support programs for children and adults at the Eugene (Oregon) Public Library.
